GoPro does a great job at delivering awesome quality video with ProTune turned off. For basic vlogging , it would be perfectly fine to leave ProTune turned off. Here are the settings which can be adjusted when ProTune is turned on. It all comes down to personal taste and how much editing you intend to do.
