I don't think Madeleine knows much about love at all. She strikes me as someone who knows more about analysing her feelings than she does about engaging with how she feels.
Poor girl. I'm only sorry that her first taste of immature infatuation had to be at the hands of Leonard. Luckily, she managed to escape a potentially damaging situation without suffering too much fallout.
