The galaxies and clusters of galaxies that make up the visible universe are concentrated in a complex scaffold that surrounds a network of enormous cosmic voids. However, in addition to the "normal" matter that makes up the visible parts of the universe, scientists have discovered that there are vast amounts of unseen matter. Clearly, if we hope to understand the structure of the universe and the processes by which it formed and evolves, we must first understand the distribution of this important but unseen dark matter and the ways in which it interacts with and influences normal matter.
Though astronomers have been studying stars for thousands of years, it is only in the past 35 or so years that they have been able to employ instruments that detect light across the entire electromagnetic spectrum—from radio waves to gamma rays—to peer into the dusty clouds where stars are born in our own Galaxy.
If we are to comprehend how the universe makes stars—and planets that orbit them today—we must continue these studies with ever more powerful telescopes. How does the universe work? Are we alone? Black Holes. The Big Bang. Suit yourself. What ever works for you, you know. Thank you for reading the article anyway. Wow i loved this! I am now trying to accept and enjoy the form. Are we bored? Also, I just discovered you through this article share by Lissa!
So you speak French? Montreal, quebec! Even addictive. According to Thomas Campbell in his book My Big TOE Theory of Everything , playing a video game is using our intent to control a creature that evolves in a different world. An older or younger character than me. Well according to Thomas, WE are the characters in the simulation, and consciousness is playing us. So playing a video game is Consciousness playing a human in this Physical Mater Reality an evolved simulation , playing an electronic character in a computer based virtual reality.
Suffering beyond belief for innocent animals and children. But we have full control over how we feel about it. I was in a car crash recently.
The passenger beside me felt terrified and thought we were going to die. I felt so alive, empowered and engaged. Same life event, 2 totally different feelings about it. Clear, brilliant, calming for my nervous system. Really well written. Thanks Olivier for taking the time to consolidate and share your emerging clarity on this topic that affects me so much in my daily life and in my search for tools by which to navigate the challenges of existing.
Thanks for the great information. You have helped me understand that we matter. We are here because we are meant to. And I love how you said. It makes sense. All of it. Well the opposite is true here. This should be a book next to my bed that I only turn the page when I can repeat the message. I found the article when I googled why are we here? What is our purpose? I study Abraham Hicks, and find the teachings resonate with my belief system.
Thank you very much for the taking the time to write this for us. Of these, yours was the most explicit. I have wondered about this sort of thing for many years, now, and would like to thank you for this enlightening site. I shall sleep a little sounder tonight. Thank you once again. Well said! I definitely agree with most of what you said. I do feel that, being human, our explanations will always be limited, because we cannot completely conceive of the concepts of nothingness, always, neverending, and why.
There ultimately is no why or at least a why explanation that we look for. Ah, existential brains! Why must we wonder? Yes, there is an acceleration in the universe, like the rate at which galaxies move away from each other. But does Consciousness need to evolve at a faster rate? It may all happen simultaneously anyways…. The answer is in your title caption. Thank you for this. This pandemic has probably kept a lot of us up a night thinking existentially; me definitely. The Universe is our playground to enjoy and nurture.
So many billions of years of atomic reactions had to happen and is constantly happening in order for us to be here.
There is so much Love surrounding us. I love your comment, Rasheed. My primary practice is to accept reality and of what is out of my control.
Feeling miserable that reality should be different is an ego trip. This is not a blind spiritual bypass. We currently cannot possibly possess any amount of Shakti at this time without money and possessions, because, if that were true then our physical selves would have died a long time ago through starvation or simply perished by the cold.
We simply cannot physically exist without shelter, sustenance and companionship. No amount of meditation will change that unless the whole world does it do you see that happening? So yeah lovely post and lots of great insights, but too many flaws due to the imbalances that have steered us towards too much power and not enough grounding.
Funny, eh? Would you rather be a snow bear in Alaska? Or an antelope in Africa during a drought? Or does the Dinosaur period sounds better? They might have more knowledge or more money. And those can be acquired. The richest man and the poorest man have 1 thing in commun: we all have 24 hours in a day. The outcome depends on how we spend them. Focus on what you can change, and be surprised how far you can go.
Thank you for your shared thoughts Olivier. You have a great human attitude. You touched on many subjects and provided many explanations with well documented references. I am familiar with most of your references and concepts however, it seems like you are still bound to a dualistic view in some of the text.
Most physicists and cosmologists seem to fall into the same groove and never address the unexplainable, probably because by definition it cannot be explained, but they continuously make up magic constants or concepts to fill in the blanks to complete their holy grail of a logical explanation for our perceptions and experiences. Thank you for reading the article. Yes I am! If consciousness has created a physical world, it must be sacred.
If our souls have decided to have a human experience, I want to embrace it completely, which means also embracing the dualistic aspect of our physical material reality.
Why not embrace the human curriculum? Why be here if not to do so? Otherwise, might as well stay non-physical…. Your email address will not be published.
